Privacy Policy (for Open Letter to Jacinda)

We collect your personal details for the purpose of presenting our Open Letter to Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, and – subject to your agreement – to notify you of relevant news.
Your name
Unless you tick the “Don’t Publish my Name” check box when signing the letter, your name may be:
- Displayed on the website.
- Otherwise published (e.g. in a list of names in a newspaper advertisement).
If you tick the “Don’t Publish my Name” check box, your name will not be displayed on the website or published by us in any other way. We may, however, include it in a list of names presented to the Prime Minster.
Your email address
We collect your email address for the following purposes:
- To detect multiple signatures from the same email address (this is not allowed)
- Subject to your agreement, to send your emails about Extinction Rebellion news.
If you agree to receive emails, you can opt out later.
We will not pass your email address on to any third party.
Other Personal Details
If you provide us with your location and your organisation or occupation, these details may be displayed on the website and presented to the Prime Minister. If you tick the “Don’t Publish my Name” check box, these other details will still be displayed, but your name will not be.
General
Your personal details will be stored securely on the server of the web hosting service we have used for this Open Letter, and may be accessed only by Extinction Rebellion volunteers and only for the purposes stated above.
